Plague People

Plague people inhabited the earth after the outbreak of 2020. Livestock was exterminated, but insects still carried the virus. There was no vegetation, other than the few plants cultivated in vertical farms underground. The constant spraying of insecticides and disinfectants covered the cities in a yellowish/green fog that constantly covered the sun. Missing valuable vitamins and nutrients humans started decaying while still alive, resembling more and more ghouls then the former selves. The infected were shunned and sent to live the rest of their lives in solitude while the remaining humans started painting green x's on their foreheads to communicate to each others that they were virus free......a mark pretty easily faked by those who could not accept their faith.
